AAPI & Second-Generation

Therapy for the Space Between Two Worlds

For AAPI and second-generation adults carrying family expectation, cultural identity, and the weight of others' sacrifices. Therapy with someone who gets it—in San Diego and online across California.

You Don't Have to Explain

The Weight of Being "In Between"

Growing up between cultures asks a lot of you: translating for your parents, holding their sacrifices, meeting expectations that were never really yours to choose. You may feel not quite enough in either world—too Americanized at home, too foreign outside it.

As a second-generation Filipino American therapist, I understand these layers from the inside. In our work, you won't have to explain why family loyalty and self-betrayal can feel like the same thing, or why setting a boundary can feel like an earthquake. We start from a shared understanding.

It means I understand the cultural context you live in—family expectations, immigrant sacrifice, the model minority myth, code-switching, and the guilt that can come with individuating. You won't have to explain or justify those experiences; we start from a shared understanding.
